About Mother Africa

Advancing racial equity by supporting African refugees, immigrant women, and families to reach their highest potential.

Our Commitment & Purpose: 
Mother Africa is committed to leadership building, advocacy, and community action through supporting our community to navigate and overcome barriers. Barriers may include accessing healthcare, education, safety, safer environment and economic independence. Mother Africa aims to fulfill its work by fostering and nurturing a space that allows our community to be empowered and celebrate cultural diversity, families, and socio-economic growth.

Who is our community? 
The communities we serve are refugees and immigrants from over 20 countries in Africa and the Middle East. They speak: Arabic, French, Swahili, Mai Mai, Lingala, Amharic, Tigrinya, Dari, and Farsi. Most importantly, they call King County "home."
